Mary Magdalene, and Mary "the prostitute that Jesus saved" are different women?

There were so many Marys in biblical times it was a very popular name so often people confuse them with other Marys. Mary Magdalene and the Mary that was a prostitute were two different people. Mary Magdalene was one of Jesus disciples and she her name was mistreated because of how ist and controlling people were back then. A woman in the church was a threat. They had to erase her from the bible somehow. She was also Jesus' wife.
