Do we need Robocops to stand up for our rights against a corrupt police force?

I watched an American movie the other day which had a policeman who was murdered and reborn as a Robotic policeman. He was absolutely incorruptible and would completely follow the law. It was even more effective because the backdrop was the American city of Detroit with its crumbling industry. With the current Rupert Murdoch allegations of police corruption do we need a new law enforcement against our crumbling society?
