Is Michael Jackson really the greatest musician that ever lived?
Considering the rate of downloaded music today, no one will ever surp his record sales. Not sure if that makes him the greatest though. Record and movie sales should be based on percentages anyway, not dollars since it costs more to purchase things today than it did when Elvis was around or Star Wars was out. Anyway, in terms of being the best no one can deny his album sales, which is what really gives him that title. The others you mention are great artists but come nowhere near MJ in sales. Even Madonna, who in my opinion is not nearly as talented, can compete in record sales but still falls far short. I'm no fan but the guy made his mark in the business. He's probably the only guy whose name you can mention in any place on the planet, even the caves in Pakistan, and people know who you're talking about. Even Elvis doesn't rate that high.
