I made my ex cry... I don't know what to do...?

I never saw him cry before. He knows that I don't like wimpy guys and dislike it when guys cry, so he always holds in his tears. But today, he came to me and cried. I don't want to see him like this, but I know that the further I hold his hopes up, the more hurt he will get. What to do to make him feel better?
