Anyone else think Jesus' "sacrifice" is a sham?

I've thought about that too. Why does it matter that he died for our sins if he knows he (supposedly) can't really die? I think that's why the church cooked up the whole "fully god/fully man" equation. That way it seemed like he was going through some major sacrifice because he was human. But if he was fully divine too, he would know he couldn't die or fail in the long run. Anyway, I'm not Christian so I don't want to bash other people's religion and it's fine if they believe in that, but I admit that I've always been confused as to how he was making any real sacrifice.
